ECOEI acknowledges the importance of academic writing skills of graduate students and would like to provide learning opportunities virtually that could be available for all students. For this purpose, ECO Educational Institute prepared a workshop series on “How to Write and Publish Articles for International Journals” with a goal of improving the academic writing skills of graduate students and introducing submission, evaluation, and publication procedures of scholarly journals to them.
The workshop was attended by 60 graduate students and scholars from the IIUI. The virtual 3-hour workshop consisted of three sessions: Writing process of a scholarly article: research question, literature review, hypotheses, case selection, and methods of data collection and analysis, Submission and Revision process of the article: correspondence with the journal editors, Q&A and experience sharing.
The third of this workshop series was conducted by Dr. Gonca Biltekin. Dr. Biltekin has received her Ph.D. from the Department of International Relations at Bilkent University in 2014 and completed post-doctoral studies as a Fulbright Scholar at Binghamton University in the United States. Before joining our Institute, Dr. Biltekin worked as a researcher at the Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research in Ankara and she has taught research methods classes at Bilkent University and has been published in several international scholarly journals. Currently, she is the managing editor of All Azimuth, an international academic journal indexed by Scopus, ESCI, and other indexes.
