The book consists of a collection of papers that were presented at the Common History, Culture, Education and Civilization Symposium on 27-28 September 2019 in Ankara organized by ECOEI. For two days, scientists and academics from 16 different countries discussed the common heritage of Member Countries of ECO in several areas like art, science, education, culture, religion, and trade. 46 of the articles presented at the symposium have been edited by President Prof. M. Akif Kireçci and Dr. Gonca Biltekin and published in the book.
The main idea behind the book is to draw attention to the many ways the neighboring people of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Türkiye have been connected throughout history. By raising awareness about the shared culture of the ECO Member States and contributing to understanding the culture, worldview, and customs of each other, ECOEI aims to strengthen cooperation and communication in the region. This book constitutes a long-standing testament to the common ground ECO Members share.
